Today we celebrate the birth of a little girl who would be called to become the Mother of her Creator, the Mother of God. Yet, she is born simply as a little girl, like the daughters and granddaughters we hold in our arms. We bestow upon her the most exalted and noble titles, such as Our Lady and Queen, but God’s way was and remains simpler and quieter, yet no less powerful and transformative. It is the way of Jesus Himself. #NativityOfMary
The #GospelOfToday (Mt 14:22-33) teaches us the importance of not getting carried away by success and of never being presumptuous. At the same time, it teaches us not to despair, even in moments of darkness, when we feel powerless in the face of problems.
I'm not saying St. Anthony physically takes your lost item and puts it in a really obvious place, but there have been many occasions where I felt like that was the only possible explanation

I’m generally opposed to milking these franchises dry until they’re nothing but a shriveled husk, but if this movie is going to villainize iPads and scold parents who use screens to babysit their kids then I wholly support it. This may be the only “part 5” movie that has ever had a valid reason to exist.
Incredible.
A café employs people with Down syndrome to affirm their humanity and break societal stigmas.
An extra chromosome does not determine a person’s worth or humanity.
We need more of this.
Christ speaks to His disciples of the “need to pray always, and not to lose heart.” Just as we never grow tired of breathing, let us never grow weary of praying! Just as breathing sustains the life of the body, so prayer sustains the life of the soul. #GospelOfTheDay (Lk 18:1-8)

Respectfully, if you’re a Catholic who hasn’t been to Mass in a long time and the Charlie Kirk situation is what gets you stepping back into the Church, I’m glad you’re going. But to get annoyed that it wasn’t the subject of the homily is weird. Mass is not a political seminar.
I would like to express sincere condolences to all the families who have lost loved ones, in particular their daughters, who were at the summer camp, in the disaster caused by flooding of the Guadalupe River in Texas in the United States. We pray for them.
