People talked to me about parenting with little sleep. They talked to me about parenting in the era of social media. They talked to me about parenting in a culture of instant gratification. You know what no one talked about? Parenting while grieving.
This thread of hope is woven throughout every detail of Luke’s nativity narrative, connecting all of the scattered pieces, the seemingly insignificant details, and legitimately difficult circumstances into one big display of God’s glory breaking into the world’s darkness.
The nativity story is not just about the story of our Savior’s birth – it is the story of God on the move, gathering to himself a new covenant people who carry His redemptive hope into dark and lonely places.

@HeatherTDay I had no idea the impact an invitation in the grocery store would have. We still speak to this day and she attends our church occasionally, but whatever impact that moment had on her, it was equally as profound for me.
@HeatherTDay A year later she posted on FB that she was standing in Planned Parenthood asking the Lord if she should go through with this abortion and someone sent her a text that said, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah 26:3

A grievous injustice that should never happen. Angered that the men who killed him were empowered with self-righteous entitlement for two months before being held accountable. May justice come down swift and firm upon them and those who turned a blind eye to their actions.
