I watched HE’s closing speech at the Leadership Retreat and I also followed our reactions in WhatsApp groups and on social media.

It feels like many of us are avoiding the most obvious and important part of his message. The concern about accountability is not only about GoR officials. It shows up in our homes and in our workplaces and in government of course.

Maybe each of us needs a personal « Mwiherero ». The kind where we ask ourselves honest and sometimes uncomfortable questions.

Progress is less about intention and more about execution. These are my key takeaways:

1. Let’s make end-to-end execution our motto. Where the issue is not resources, we must deliver for our people. Public or private, we are in this together.

2. Prepare for the future now. Career orientation and education must align with our 2030–2050 Imihigo. We need to intentionally place skills where we see our future as a nation.

3. We must protect our dignity and progress. We cannot allow anyone to undermine us or push us back into a cycle of dependency and poverty.

4. Silos will be the end of our success. We already have the tools; what we need is the willingness to work together and truly drive #UmuturageKuIsonga.
