Regarding Christ's obedience unto death, even death of a cross, Bernard writes, "Ne perderet obedientiam, perdidit vitam, (Translation from Latin: ‘He lost His life rather than lose His obedience’).
When the Son laid aside His glory, the angels must have cried, “It is enough! Go no further down!” On taking to Himself our flesh, they must have cried, “Surely, it is enough. Go no further down!” But He descended until He could descend no more— to the death of the cross!
Jesus' sinlessness was so irrefutable that He did what no other sane person would dare to do—He bore witness to His own perfection even before His enemies. Who among us would dare stand before an opponent with the challenge, “Which one of you convicts Me of sin?” (John 8:46).
A religious person once asked Jesus, "If I should only follow one law, what would the most important one be?"
Jesus responded and said, "The most important thing of all is to love God, love others the way you love yourself"
Love God 💜
Love others 💛
Love yourself 💚
God is the source and sustainer of all good. He and he alone. Nothing in this universe is able to produce true goodness, unless the Good Creator is its wellspring. #GodisGood#HappyThanksGiving
