Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000, BMW Z4 Coupe, Clio 172 phase 1 or MINI Cooper S (R56). The Integra won round one, but which of these offers the best combo of fun, engaging engine, exciting noise, speed, handling and reasonable reliability/costs - standard or with a few mods? Vote now!
@LobAllan Pah - amateurs. My A6 was cloned from an AT ad and they clocked up tickets for ban-level speeding, stealing diesel, driving in bus lanes and parking fines. Having to phone to get a registration is annoying but gives you a chance to gauge whether you want to buy from seller, too.
@405_Mi16 I loved mine. Sounded great, decently quick and I really liked the seats, steering and suspension. Not sure a Japanese import makes sense. There's no point saving on tax to potentially pay more on insurance and have less history, if any, which could mean higher maintenance costs.
@taro_cradock@StripeyMiata As someone currently selling a £6,500 car, I'm tempted to put 'YOU OWN THE CAR' in the advert. Or I could present it as a £6,500 deposit and then £0 per month. Hmm...
Fancy your own bit of V8 goodness? My 2007 Audi A6 4.2 FSI S Line with Milltek exhaust, just 72,895 miles and full Audi service history is for sale. Has four recent Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 tyres, plus advisory-free MOT to March 24. Yours for £6,495. https://t.co/z2vZOSkPHG
@SteveFowler I don’t believe you. No, ‘I’ll give you a biro and 37 staplers’ approaches? I’ve had a couple of scammer emails even through AT and Car&Classic for my A6. Strange market right now.
@AntonyWrites @ThePollitt Hotel pillows are always about a foot thick. No good for those of us who like skinny pillows. You pretty much have to sleep sitting up with most of them…
@LobAllan Sounds good. It’s not really possible to drive beyond that - at least in the south east. Still, you have the joy of the M4.
Talking ride, I was amazed at the difference switching from heavy 19s to lightweight-ish 18s made to the A6. Ride has gone from 3/10 to 8/10…
@LobAllan The Jag is lovely. Especially in red. I just have a pathological need for Quattro and folding rear seats! I remember bombing along the M4 in a cousin’s 3.0-litre S-Type decades ago at obscene speeds. If I didn’t know that was a company car I would have sworn the speedo was in kph
@LobAllan They should work considering they were a no cost option on the car when it was new. Drives soooo much better on these than the Audi 19s that were on it previously. I love having quattro with a V8. I personally wouldn't swap that bit with 345bhp, as cushy as the S-Type is.
