Notice that the more involved the govt. is in providing or paying for something, the more inflation there is.
The less involved the govt. is, the more we've seen stable or declining prices.
Incentives matter!
Normies: "I'd like a bank to just hold my money & make payments on my behalf. I'll pay for this service."
Fiat cartel: "That's illegal. Your only choice is to become an unsecured creditor to a hedge fund calling itself a bank so they can use you as an excuse for a bailout"
Dick Bove did an interview on CNBC Asia today. He pointed out that the “net worth” of the US Federal Reserve is -1.1 Trillion dollars due to essentially the same funding/investing mismatch that took down SVB. So the only way for the Fed to backstop the system is to print money.
Quite apt (from the fabulous "Immoderate Greatness: Why Civilizations Fail by William Ophuls):
“Inflation is always an evasion of reality – an attempt to maintain an artificial prosperity that objective conditions would not otherwise allow.
Leaders resort to inflation because they are desperate. They have been backed into a corner by events and lack the moral courage or the political support to institute fundamental reforms, which would require them to inflict pain on the mass of commoners and vanquish powerful elites...
…rulers bereft of backbone, ingenuity, and capital attempt to postpone the impending crisis by inflating, whether this takes the form of clipping coins, printing money, or loosening credit.”
Have been asked many times if I have a video that quickly explains the Dollar Milkshake Theory (as its an event driven process not just the $ going higher).
Big thanks to the whole @RealVision team who collaborated & created this video with me.

@POTUS Government cannot invest. It can only take resources from private employment based on consumer demand and waste it on stuff politicians want, like reelection and lining the pockets of cronies.
