'I pledge to take up this filthy habit. Just to annoy them. Arrest me! In fact, why don't I give it a go right now. Mark my words, under a Labour government, our freedoms will go up in smoke.'

There’s a difference btwn people who move to London and make it their home, and people who move to London to be “in their ldn era xx”. They don’t care about locals, displacement, community, city/area-specific issues. They don’t volunteer or engage with local groups etc.
Something really odd about Brits who moved to London for work and made it their home, but who return to their parents for Christmas, being told ‘good riddance gentrifier you’re not a proper Londoner’.
Imagine anyone saying that about someone born abroad
Actually very hurtful.
