Most of us spend years chasing things in this world that we think will make us feel loved.
But everything this world has to offer is temporary. Everything. The kind of love our souls crave is lasting, eternal. And only God can fill up our hearts with that kind of love.
Today’s a good day to let the names Jesus whispers over you sink in deep.
He calls you…
Holy.
Forgiven.
Precious in His sight.
The one He died for.
The one He loves so deeply.
The one He has a plan for.
The one He treasures.
“He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20) My hope, if you are reading, is that you would be reconciled to God through His Son. He is the propitiation for your sins if you will believe upon Him.
Being a believer doesn’t give you immunity from the assaults of the enemy, but it does give you access to the power of the Father—His power to defend you as well as reverse what’s been done to you.
Satan wants us to believe the lie that we can’t trust God to work things out. But God wants us to remember He can make a way.
Here is a simple verse we can put on repeat tonight:
“In you, Lord my God, I put my trust.” Psalm 25:1
When painful thoughts are attacking, we can lay in the dark & replay the day's difficulties or we can turn the light on & read God's Word.
Let's open up His Word. Let it redirect our thoughts. Let God give us a fresh perspective. Let Him give us a hope beyond what we can see.
One day ... God WILL make everything right.
No more death.
No more pain.
No more sorrow.
No more weeping.
Until that day, we must live with eternity tucked into today's reality. We know the end of the story. Our God is now and forever faithful.
We don’t have to have all the answers. We just have to whisper the name of the One who does.
Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
Just a whispered breath formed in the wholeness of His name carries all the power & mercy & wisdom & grace we need.
Jesus isn’t shocked by our weaknesses. He doesn’t shun us or push us away.
No. Hebrews 4:15-16 reminds us that He is approachable. He understands our struggles. And He graciously offers us help and hope.
What a gift it is to be loved by Him.
It can be so tempting to look at life's hardships through the lens of disillusionment & disappointment, but there is another lens we can use …
Love.
No matter what happens, we can stand on the truth that God deeply loves us. His love is a certainty above every circumstance.
