The Chronically Academic Twitter team are taking a break while we look for new volunteers to join our team and try to find some spoons for ourselves. Wishing our #ChronicallyAcademic community all the best.
The daily struggle as everything transitions back to in-person *only* events, competitions…
Do I attend and risk potential long term detriment to my (already shaky) health, or
Do I not attend and risk undermining my career development, prospects etc?

Does anyone have any references for creative methodologies that are inclusive of one's disability/chronic illness (i.e as a disabled researcher with little spoons)? Big bonus if it's in anthropology or at least qualitative research. #disabledresearcher
Can any @DisabledAcadem@chron_ac recommend a text to speech programme that works on windows that can cope with academic pdfs without reading all the headers/footers/web address along the side of the page etc in amongst the text
[Admin]: Hi all, we are looking for volunteers to help us with running our Twitter account. We feel that the team works best when we can share the workload, and so we would like to grow our team. 1/3
We understand that you are studying and/or working, have other commitments, and disability/health conditions. The volunteering would be quite flexible. Please comment below or DM if you are interested in becoming a volunteer or would like to know more. Thanks! 3/3
Tasks include monitoring the Twitter account, scheduling Twitter takeovers, and social media planning and strategising. We communicate with each other quite regularly so you would have support if you have any questions. 2/3
Ich bin auch Mitglied und Vorsitzende bei @chron_ac - wir haben eine Facebook und Slack Gruppe und versuchen so langsam den Blog und unseren Twitter Account wiederzubekommen
Forced medical leave also violates the Americans w/ Disabilities Act b/c it deprives disabled students of equal access to education & essential disability accommodations: https://t.co/c70G6l7VzT

I've been one of these volunteers for about 4 yrs now. It's been an incredible experience & I've learned tons. So grateful for this community! My workload recently has made it has diff 4 me 2 contribute at my usual capacity so I'm stepping back 4 now. I hope others will join in!
