NEWS: In a stunning upset, Mamdani-backed Darializa Avila Chevalier will defeat five-term incumbent Adriano Espaillat in the NY-13 congressional primary.
With victories by Brad Lander, Claire Valdez, and now Avila Chevalier, Zohran Mamdani went 3-for-3 with his endorsements in New York City's Democratic primaries.
I have never in my entire life of reluctant heterosexuality had a man slap my knee like that.
You can’t convince me these people know each other’s coffee orders let alone have been intimate together.🥴
One year ago today: JD Vance tells Americans that we're not at war with Iran and would not get into a prolonged conflict because we no longer had "dumb presidents." A year later, Vance is in Switzerland trying to end the Iran War.
You paid for a plane with "a level of luxury that nobody has never seen before". And he's apparently taking it with him once he leaves the White House.
The plane. The ballroom. The corruption. This guy thinks taxpayers are dopes. Your money is just his to live a life of luxury.
At the G7, the CEOs of the big AI companies sat at the table like heads of state, alongside presidents and prime ministers.
This is the nightmare scene.
Governments need to have a response to the state-like power of these companies, whether it’s by taking ownership shares, breaking them up into smaller entities, or imposing a regulatory structure that controls their power over citizens.
@politiflops@AzPetrich i’ve had both, but also ya that makes sense. england has more issues than most countries with UHC.
there are pros &cons of every thing. but we’re one of the only 1st world countries without it, insurance can deny life saving care, can go bankrupt from bills & still have a wait
@BradSchneller@xPatecatlx@AzPetrich yeah for sure plastic surgery but also medical tourism is growing, people getting tests and scans to get diagnosed, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics. because it’s far cheaper and more thorough
but also why speak on it as if it’s true when you’re just guessing lol
@Friendswoo65122@AzPetrich many also fly out of here to get more affordable help. also i’ve traveled and gotten to see speciality doctors same day (usually less than an hour wait) while in USA months & i have decent insurance
@BradSchneller@xPatecatlx@AzPetrich okay if you’re gonna use the low to middle class family average, the USA’s go into medical debt, can’t go to doctors, don’t have insurance..etc.
also, sure countless stories of candidans coming here but also countless stories of americans going to mexico, turkey, china etc.
The Trump administration just paid Invenergy $765 million to cancel four wind projects. That brings the running total to roughly $2.5 billion in taxpayer money spent to stop energy from being built.
Think about that.
At a time when electricity demand is rising, the Trump administration is spending billions to reduce the amount of power that could reach the grid.
Trump has spent years attacking wind turbines as ugly and inefficient. He is entitled to his opinions about how they look. He is not entitled to make taxpayers finance those opinions.
Seven states have already sued over earlier agreements. Federal courts have repeatedly found legal defects in this administration’s efforts to halt offshore wind development. The administration has cited national security concerns while providing little public evidence to support them, and judges have said they were not convinced.
Strip away the politics and what remains is hard to defend.
Billions in taxpayer money paid to private companies to cancel planned energy projects during a period of rising demand.
Governments usually spend money to build things.
This administration is spending billions to make sure some things never get built.

@transictus@CostumedVillain@Morgayze@fire_starter457 if you live in a wealthy suburb of KC, it’s most likely blue. but you haven’t admitted where you live yet you keep just talking about the gas stations, instead of actually admitting most of the world cup is being hosted in blue areas. even if you exclude your “wealth red suburb”
Wtf is Jared Kushner doing in Switzerland negotiating with Iran ? He’s not part of my govt? That kid does not represent me or my interests. My Congress representatives did not confirm him .
It's only Tuesday and Trump has fucked up a pool for $14 Million, lost a war agreeing to pay Iran $300 Billion, and ballooned his already expensive ballroom budget by another $200 Million.
Where are the Republicans screaming about "waste, fraud and abuse"?
Spacex is cool but America is basically 350 million people working to keep 20 billionaires rich enough to protect pedophiles and perpetuate genocides on the other side of the world.
@ReadSowell@DarrigoMelanie@grok understood, but then your underlying principles would be more mad at the GOP right now than lefties
“lefties” are just more socially annoying but everything else you say you stand for is actually happening right now
been a pleasure! people agree more than were told to believe
