SCREAM 7 is having the highest grossing opening weekend in the history of the franchise.
The film is expected to scare up around $60 million by the end of the weekend, far surpassing Scream VI's franchise best opening weekend of $44 million.
#Scream7 straight up killed it. $64.1M in its domestic debut.

The weakest link in #Scream7 for me is the opening. That’s literally it. Everything else hits, and it feels good. As someone who successfully avoided the leaks, I was entertained until the very end.
The SCREAM franchise makes me happy. Sidney Prescott & Ghostface are my all-time favourite movie characters. I’ve watched these movies my entire life. Nothing will change that for me & no one will ever take away my happiness that these films give me. Just saying.
Who does Robert Englund want to see as the next Freddy Krueger? He tells us, "I think, for the sake of the franchise, they need to find someone like a Doug Jones."
Englund continues, "But I think they probably should steer themselves to someone more unknown that doesn’t have to worry about following in my footsteps or anything else; just creating his own conception of the character. I think that it would be interesting to maybe redefine Freddy differently than my physicality and my size; a lumbering tall man, perhaps, or someone wiry and shorter than me, and maybe more cat-like or reptilian. It would be interesting. They gotta pick somebody that can go the distance."
