Slowly but surely, it takes just one good, compassionate leader to truly change Nigeria. Look at what happened at Singer Market in Kano after the devastating fire that wiped out billions in goods and livelihoods, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso visited early, showing support on the ground.
But it barely registered as a national priority with the Federal Government.

Then, Peter Obi stepped in, traveling personally on February 8, 2026, to commiserate directly with the affected traders, pledge support, donate funds, and call it a huge national loss. His genuine empathy and quick action shone through.

Suddenly, the Federal Government took notice: yesterday President Tinubu directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to lead a high-powered delegation to Kano, conveying sympathies and announcing major support (including billions in aid). Yes, it coincided with Gov. Yusuf's move to APC, but the timing after Obi's visit speaks volumes, true compassion from opposition can push even the center to respond faster.

This is the difference: Peter Obi is setting the yardstick for government with heart not just politics as usual.

I'm convinced: When he leads, Nigeria will never be the same. He'll slash the insane cost of governance, prioritize the people over waste, and lead as a true servant not a dealer cutting deals in the shadows.

Slowly but surely, the standard is rising.
Compassionate leadership is possible.
Peter Obi is proof.
