WHY ALAN PETER CAYETANO WANTS TO BE SENATE PRESIDENT AND HOW HE WILL FAIL

Over the weekend, the political chatter was buzzing about a Senate coup against the one week old majority of Senator Tito Sotto.

Gusto ni Cayetano, Marcoleta, at ng DDS bloc maging majority ulet para masunod ang DDS script nila na binigay nila kay Sarah and Curlee Discaya.

Admittedly, Sotto’s Senate Presidency is a fragile one - with 15 votes in his favor, only four (4) need to defect to topple him.

And part of the 15 votes that Sotto has includes perceived DDS Senators Mark Villar, Camille Villar, and Pia Cayetano - the sister of Alan Peter Cayetano.

If all three (3) defect to APC, that will give him 12 votes - which is not enough to topple Sotto. That is a stalemate in favor of status quo.

So he would need to poach one more to tilt the balance. And could he? I doubt it.

The reason why Sotto was originally a strong contender for the Senate Presidency back in July 28/29 is because Sotto had the following factors in his favor:

1. He has a Nacionalist People’s Coalition bloc composed of Win Gatchalian, Lito Lapid, JV Ejercito, Loren Legarda, and Tito Sotto himself.

2. He had the backing of most of the “Seatmates Bloc” led by Zubiri, who was ousted by Chiz and harbors a grudge against Chiz. The members of NPC overlap with this bloc, namely
Win, Loren, and JV.

3. Most importantly, Sotto was under BBM’s Alyansa slate and so was expected to be carried by Senators who ran under Alyansa like Erwin Tulfo.

The problem back in July was BBM was nonchalant or not gung ho in intervening in the Senate Presidency.

So Senators who were looking for guidance - which included the Tulfo brothers - did not get a signal and defaulted to not rocking the boat. That is especially because Chiz has delivered to most of them through the 142 Billion Peso budget insertions.

But last week, given the rude maneuverings of Rodante Marcoleta by not informing and furnishing a copy of the Discaya affidavit to the rest of his co-equal Senators and clearly foisting a Duterte propaganda with the Discayas only focusing on 2022-2025, the House of Marcos gave a signal that it’s time for Escudero, Marcoleta, and the Duterte bloc to go.

As I’ve stated in my previous write-up that the personal controversies of Chiz Escudero being connected with a flood control contractor was also a big factor in the coup de tat, the question now is how can Alan Peter Cayetano confidently mount a coup when his own balwarte Taguig City will soon be in the spotlight?

Ang sabi ng tweety bird ko, madami na connections naungkat ang ibang mga Senador tungkol sa sariling connections ni Alan Peter with the Discayas.

Sa Sumbong sa Pangulo website alone, there are 8-9 flood control projects by the Discaya companies such as St. Timothy and Alpha & Omega Corporations.

And look at the huge whopping amount or numbers!

Collectively, for 2022-2024 alone, the Discaya companies bagged almost ONE (1) BILLION PESOS in Taguig City pa lang!

Kung totoo ang sinasabi ng mga Discayas na 30% ang SOP ng pulitiko, that’s 300 MILLION PESOS going to a politician.

So how can Alan Peter poach one more Senator in his favor when JV Ejecito is known as the Good One? Win Gatchalian is known for fiscal discipline? The Tulfo brothers are known for anti-corruption?

Why would they support a candidate for Senate President in Alan Peter Cayetano who also has past corruption controversies such as the overpriced 50 Million SEA Games cauldron?

Kaya nga di ba tawag kay APC ay Kaldero King?

So any Senator who wants to protect the falling reputation of the Senate should think twice in voting for Alan Peter Cayetano.

First, he himself is controversial and will be implicated in the coming weeks.

Second, kakapalit lang ng leadership tapos mag ku-kudeta ulet?

Mag mu-mukhang unstable and walang credibility ang Senado lalo - leading to its trust ratings plunging much faster!

Let stability rule for now.

Contractor: gets proj for 8-10% profit margin (na pwedeng overpriced)

Congressman: gets 25-31% PER proj for just awarding

I still have doubts on this “lists”. Like I noticed that majority of these people were critics of former admin. Though there are some that I’m convinced (Like mr Sabong 😆😆). My doubt is coming from 1. Including Romulo, knowing na kalaban ng partido nila Discaya last eleksyon -
