several of these shots have a sense of turbulence and change but i love that bangtan are portrayed in contrast as grounded and unmoving and untroubled by it all. rooted, as it were, stable thanks to their foundations in what they do that let them endure against ruptures of time.
This comment was so good that I translated it to share with I-Iovelies💜
“There’s something I want to say to ARMYs.
People who belittle BTS often mock them with the word “Beetles,” but fans who made Seo Taiji into a quiet legend were treated the same way. And even the fans of The Beatles, who changed the paradigm of music, were ridiculed too. Yet while others didn’t realize it, they were helping create artists who would define their era.
So instead of responding to haters and stressing out, I hope you can take pride—because you are part of a fandom that’s making history together with the artists.”
“The most staggering data point from Netflix’s release, however, is the social media footprint. The BTS campaign generated a jaw-dropping 2.62 billion global social impressions across Netflix’s owned channels. Hashtags dominated worldwide trends from the US and Korea to Brazil, Poland, and India.”

18.4 million global viewers (Live+1) showed up for their BANGTAN when BTS reunited LIVE onstage for the first time in almost four years in BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG!
Congratulations to RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook on their iconic performance.
Now that the weekend is over, I have some disjointed thoughts about all the "criticism" of the album.
I consider myself very lucky to have grown up with parents who instilled in me a love for where I came from and made sure I could speak, read, and write Korean--
Was talking to my husband about the “Is it Korean enough” discourse and he replied with this surprisingly lucid insight:
“The thing is, anyone who’s asking that is probably asking: is it K-pop enough? When the only question that should matter is - is it BTS enough? And it is.”
In the final few hours before ARIRANG is released, I want to spend a moment thinking about all the ARMY who weren't able to make it due to ill health or tragedy 🕯Borahae 💜
Hamish Hamilton and his team on the comeback live Via Variety💜🔥🔥🔥
“It’s absolutely enormous,” said Hamilton, who flew into Seoul just hours after Conan O’Brien said his good nights on the Oscars. “Getting off the plane, people were talking about it. The excitement here is palpable as you walk around the streets. It’s such a massive occasion.”
Guy Carrington, who also spoke to Variety from Seoul: “I’ve been here maybe 10 days now, and you can see it build. As the stages start to go up, people are starting to congregate, they’re taking photos, and trying to work out what the stage is going to be used for — like where the band’s going to come from, and everywhere they might go. The whole city is now focusing on this event, there’s a vibe, there’s a real electricity around the city for this.”
Carrington and Hamilton said they had “great access” to the BTS members, and workshopped — sometimes on iPhone — some of the show’s key moments.
“They bought into the idea of, ‘look, if we really want to tell this story, and if we really want to represent the music, the new chapter, we need your buy in. We’re going to need time with you in the studio. We’re going to need to get into an off site for a few days,’” Carrington said. “And they 100% did. They’ve been a joy. Honestly, I didn’t really know what to expect with them. And they’re like seven brothers who are having a great time. They listen, they know what they like, and they’ll add input.”💜💜🔥🔥🫠🥹

A few words…
Whether you are young, or young forever,
Baby, veteran or anywhere in between.
No matter who you love, or who you choose to be,
If you love yourself, or are a working progress.
Whether you’re the proud owner of shelves of albums, & merch, & photocards,
im so scared almost every producer/writer that has worked on arirang has been acting like they witnessed the second coming of jesus christ in there what the hell happened in that studio 😭
I saw a post on the forum earlier about reaction videos dropping almost immediately after a BTS release, and it made me think it was worth bringing the conversation here too.
Every comeback we see the same pattern. The song drops and within minutes reaction videos start appearing everywhere.
The issue is TIMING.
Those first hours and the first day after a release matter a lot. Early searches, views, and engagement should be going to the official MV and the official uploads. The attention in those hours should not be split by reactors.
And beyond the first day, longevity matters as well. Maintaining BTS’s streams on YouTube over time is extremely important. The MV’s visibility and long-term streaming numbers are what actually support the music and help it keep reaching new listeners.
At the same time, reactions can bring locals who might end up discovering BTS’s work, and that is always a positive thing. There are also ARMY reactors who genuinely support the BTS. Because of that, ARMYs rule of thumb is supporting reactors who at least wait 24 hours after the official release before posting their reactions.
Personally, I rarely watch reactions during comeback weeks. And even if I’m curious, I wait. That first week is the tracking week, and for me all of that attention belongs to BTS. Their music, their MV, their album. Everything else can wait.
At the end of the day, BTS is our priority. For ARMYs, that priority should be obvious.
Let the countdown begin 🎤 BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG. March 21 8pm KST / 4am PT. LIVE worldwide exclusively on Netflix.
