@BlakeLaPierre@mamoremeatloaf@NoLieWithBTC “We will finish the job of getting a total of $2,000 in cash relief to people who need it the most. The $600 already appropriated is simply not enough,” Biden said. The $1400 checks that went out in Mar 21, added to the $600 payments already authorized, raised the total to $2000.
@NoLieWithBTC I suppose we have Trump to thank for that runoff win too, since he spent a lot of time before the runoff vote telling Georgia republicans that elections and election officials in their state were crooked, and that it was a waste of time to vote.
@oldjimmymac@NoLieWithBTC@NotHoodlum What do you mean by "Congress has no input whatsoever"? Congress consists of both the House and the Senate. Every Representative in the House and every Senator in the Senate is a member of Congress. Maybe you meant to say that the House has no input whatsoever?
@KC_Hiker@still4romney@sahilkapur Sure they did, because they knew their vote wouldn't matter. If their vote could have swung her confirmation, it might have been a different story. Not that they would have even been allowed a vote if reps controlled the Senate, because McConnell wouldn't have allowed a vote.
@DonaldI43275378@sahilkapur Harry Reid abolished the filibuster for federal judge appointments, except for SCOTUS, because reps were blocking virtually all Obama appointments. McConnell abolished the filibuster for SCOTUS appointments. The comment simply said that Rand Paul seemed to have found a loophole.
@auntanne9 @sacrificialcall@Marcus4Georgia Senators are chosen in statewide elections. Representatives are voted in by district, and MTG lives in one of the reddest districts in the country. If she is ousted, it'll probably be by another republican. I doubt that any democratic candidate can win in her district.
@rachalaina@JenG34_34@nunya_bidness41@RepMTG Of course you've seen it in many places. Gullible people are easily manipulated, and they spread undocumented misinformation like wildfire. That's one of the main reasons the U.S. is in such trouble.
@Eurojulius@MSNBC You think Biden can just arbitrarily "fix" all those things by himself, with a split Senate and a couple of democratic senators voting with republicans to block and/or filibuster any legislation Biden tries to pass?
@RuezImez@ItsANewDay2015@RepMTG Nope. "Police found the fetuses at the home of Lauren Handy, who was one of nine people charged in an indictment that was made public on Wednesday that accused the group of traveling to Washington, blocking access to the reproductive health center, and streaming it on Facebook."
@KeyleyPickard12 @nytimes That was a lot of words for not saying diddly-squat. Your sad attempt at building a case for your highly questionable education on American History has no bearing whatsoever on Ms Brown's nomination and qualifications for a SCOTUS appointment.
@cenkolino1985 @csparks17@nytimes Not to worry. You've got "conservative values and white America" covered with Trump's last 3 picks. If republicans win control of the Senate and the Presidency in 2024, maybe they can get an actual KIansman confirmed. That seems to be the direction "conservatives" are headed.
@Clev4life @KCNep95@itsjonny69@csparks17@nytimes If she didn't have stellar qualifications you might have a point, but since she's more qualified and has more judicial experience than any of the last 3 people nominated by Trump, who were confirmed by a republican led Senate, your point is irrelevant.
@YoMamaWally @Acyn She probably didn't see Trump at all on weekends unless she was part of the entourage that accompanied him to routine weekend golf outings at one of his resorts, usually Mar-a-Lago.
@ShoopsNChicks@Kathlee71013772@HolliWinters@Acyn Of course Fox viewers won't question anything she's saying.
As far as they're concerned, Fox hosts and the right wing spin commentators they parade through their opinion shows speak nothing but gospel truth. Lapping all that spin up without question is classic cult behavior.
