George Carlin in 2005:
"They don't want people smart enough to sit around the kitchen table and figure out how badly they're getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago."
He died in 2008. Nothing changed.
We don’t need a billionaire savior. We’re in this position because Elon bought and paid for the Republicans win the 2024. The Republicans could fund the TSA today if they just voted on the Democrat’s clean bill. We don’t need your money bud. We need a functioning government.
Elect a moron, and get a moronic war. Elect a corrupt billionaire and get an economy for billionaires, not us. If you voted for Trump, you may not think you voted for this mess, but you did. You trusted someone who lies with every breath. He's a lying conman, and you fell for it.
@TomJChicago “These are the consequences of the US electing a compromised, criminal, traitor with dementia who was rightfully disqualified from even running.” WHO disqualified him from running? Congress? Biden? Merrick Garland?? Serious question.
@ManaByte Not a very well-balanced article... lots of assumptions and puts down the many fans that simply did NOT enjoy the sequel. You even dismiss the arguments of Mark Hamill himself on the character he helped create... there's a special kind of arrogance... similar to the director.
Wagner Moura on why he believes Americans take democracy for granted:
"When I was doing 'Civil War,' I was constantly thinking about how differently Brazil reacted to our insurrection — in a better way than you guys did, because Brazil was quick to do the right thing and send the message that you can’t mess with democracy. We sent people to jail. Bolsonaro is in jail.
In America, it’s as if they’re testing, like a kid — they’re like, 'I’m going to do it,' and if there’s no reaction, then what? I feel like the U.S. and its institutions are not responding with appropriate firmness — putting up boundaries, people facing consequences."

Adapted from Martin Caidin’s 1972 novel CYBORG and after three made-for-TV movies in 1973, THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN starring Lee Majors premiered on ABC as a weekly series on this day in 1974. It would run until 1978.
Who remembers saying this as a kid: "Gentlemen, we can rebuild him; we have the technology."
Minnesota NEEDs to deploy the National Guard on a mission of “maintaining the peace between ICE and protestors”
It BLOCKS Trump from nationalizing.
The Insurrection Act requires that the State has “failed” or “refused” to engage in protections.
The Guard CANNOT be nationalized while responding to that same mission.
The difference here is the way the Governor would instruct “maintaining peace” is dramatically different than Trump.
The Governor would also have oversight control and accountability over the States National Guard forces.
If you fail to call them up, it gives Trump grounds in the legal battle.
Jon Stewart just hit it out of the park with the Trump’s administration’s blatant hypocrisy… makes you wonder why they want us so heated and fighting… 🤔
