Softball: Defending state champion North Newton tops Pioneer 7-4 at North White Sectional. Panthers rally for 3 runs in bottom 7th before falling short.

Baseball: West Central 12, Pioneer 0 (final)

Softball: Pioneer knocks off Class 1A No. 4 Tri-County 4-2. Lois Layer pitches a 2-hitter and had a double and RBI at the plate. Averi Layer had a double, single and RBI. Ava Ott had a single and 2 RBIs. The Panthers play North Newton at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in a semifinal.

Girls track: Pioneer's Aspen Moolenaar finished 14th in the 300 hurdles in 48.88 seconds at the Lafayette Jeff regional.

Finished 4th in this event at last week's Kokomo sectional.

Improved her sectional time by almost two full seconds.
