Sorry for late reply to your reply but you have missed vital information in your reply. The Howard Costello Govt started the fund and put in the first sixty billion, Labor added 4 billion,from the last of the Telstra sale in their first year back in charge, Not a further cent has been added to the fund, It’s growth to 255 billion is all from those contributions. People may have thought that further contributions happened. They didn’t. That’s the power of financial discipline. From 60 billion to 255 billion without an extra cent of contribution. I know how that works personally from my own investments. Net debt, which has included positive of the fund since its inception, was zero when Howard/Costello left office. No one since has contributed to the Future Fund. This is my actual point. If the Governments, and I include the Coalition here, hadn’t spent like maniacs over the last twenty years, we would be in such a better position. Aaron what do you think of Government spending? Do you agree it would be better for everyone if Government was much smaller and money was left in the private sector where it is put to better use, leaving better outcomes for the whole of society?
