OK @MLB, you can score major points here by doing something for @Braves fans who are Comcast/Xfinity subscribers. And while you're at it, Geofence that silly blackout region to a 50-mile diameter around Truist Park. I'm 217 miles away.
Pastor: You need to be at church. It’s important. Skipping church affects your spiritual growth. Your church family needs you.
Person: That’s legalistic! I am the church, so I don’t have to go to church!
Coach: You have to be at practice. It’s important. Skipping practice affects your playing time. Your team needs you.
Same person: Absolutely, see you then!
If planting a church I’d focus on family worship; maintain an expositional pulpit & balanced music; stress Bible memory; inc a Gospel appeal in every service; have a choir; support missions; & be unafraid to voice a biblical worldview. People are looking for a church like that!
“Would you bring your candle to show the sun?

— Charles Spurgeon
Remember this truth. If you find yourself at the top of your game or wanting to get ahead of the pack. If you think you’ve arrived or find yourself drawn by the snare of fame and power, these words from Corrie Ten Boom apply.
Christian, God is not only HOLDING you in His sovereign hand.
He is also MOLDING you with His sovereign hand.
“But now, O Lord, You are our Father, we are the clay, and You our potter; and all of us are the work of Your hand.”
Isaiah 64:8 NASB
“We find Christ in all the Scriptures. In the Old Testament, He is predicted, in the Gospels, He is revealed, in Acts, He is preached, in the epistles He is explained, and in Revelation, He is expected.” – Alistair Begg
The SBC continues in a season of tumult. Now, w/ @ronniefloyd’s departure, we face more uncertainty.
Let’s pray for Dr Floyd & his family, even as we await the review of the EC & seek to renew our cooperative work.
This is a time for prayer & hopefulness, not snark or despair.
It takes a special grace for pastors & staff to lead a church through a pandemic and any spikes that occur. So many decisions have to be made for the safety of the membership. Pray for your leaders to have Gods wisdom first and foremost.
Preacher, it is okay if you are not hip, cool, or smooth. You are a herald of the gospel, not the manager of a brand. Who cares if they are not impressed with you? Your job is to point them to Jesus!
