If y’all wanna support equality for all people, you can help by voting , signing petitions, peacefully protesting , and by being honest with yourself. #BlackLivesMatter
I do not support the violence, but the protesting and the noise we are making cannot stop. Let’s deal with this problem that we’ve been avoiding since the birth of this country- and stay together and love one another through it.
It is an ABSOLUTE PRIVILEGE to be able to learn about racism. We didn’t get to. As a black man, I had to learn about racism through my life experiences as a child based on the way people treated me, just as many other minorities have to experience stereotypes, discrimination, etc
I know some people think racism doesn’t exist , or that it’s not that bad, or that minorities should “be patient”. Take this time to educate yourself, read about #BLM “, and try to understand the ways that minorities are being oppressed and trivialized every single day
So we protest, across all 50 states and many other countries there will continue to be peaceful protests until the Government acknowledges the problem and takes action to resolve it. We’re asking you to HEAR US
We live in a nation that was built on stolen land - and it was built by slaves.
We realize that the racial injustices have gone on too long, and we’re sick and tired of the systemic racism that the US Government will not admit exists.
The Black community is not responsible for what's happening in this country right now -- we are. Our institutions are.
We are accountable to this moment. People have lost patience -- I’ve lost patience -- because they haven't seen progress.
If you’re unbothered or mildly bothered by the 1st knee, but outraged by the 2nd, then, in my father’s words, you’re “more devoted to order than to justice.” And more passionate about an anthem that supposedly symbolizes freedom than you are about a Black man’s freedom to live.
