Story time kids! Back in late 2021; We built and launched ChurroFi—the most comprehensive staking dashboard the @Celo community had ever seen.

We ran ChurroFi for 3 months before we decided to re-focus our efforts elsewhere, during that time it did $330k+ in volume.

Once we shut it down, I didn't think there'd be more to the story. But I guess, the community hadn't had enough of ChurroFi yet :P

Nearly 5 months later, @jeanregisser, a stud-developer from Celo picked up the project, forked the open-source repos, improved it, made it mobile responsive, and relaunched it as @ChurritoFi ✦

Now, over $500k worth of $CELO has been staked through ChurritoFi! It's thriving, serving the Celo community, and has outlived our initial vision for the product.

What do I really wanna underscore from the story?
The sheer power of open-source. The importance of why it's important to build software in the open, specially in crypto. Crypto is about building resilient systems, that outlive any and all of us. It's pivotal to build products and services that are capable of passing the torch.

PS — super thankful to @jeanregisser for spending the time and energy to get ChurroFi back up and running with basically minimal support from our side. You've done the Celo community a solid one 🫡
