Here is narrative of the incident where Dr. Saqib Sohail abused the students of KEMU.

𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗛𝗢𝗗 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:
It has been reported that Dr. Saqib Sohail, Head of the Department of Physiology at @kemuofficial, physically assaulted a medical student with a stick during a lecture, in the presence of nearly 300 students. There are also multiple accounts of his history of verbal abuse and public humiliation of students.
I strongly urge KEMU and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (@pmc_org) to investigate this incident with urgency. Such behavior is not only unethical but criminal. Individuals who engage in violence and intimidation have no place in academic institutions. Legal and disciplinary action must be taken to ensure student safety and uphold professional standards.

Sadly, this is not an isolated incident—and I fear it won’t be the last. In the past, a female medical student at Avicenna Medical College reportedly died by suicide following the alleged abusive conduct of the principal. A student at Frontier Medical College tragically lost their life due to the unavailability of basic life-saving equipment in the affiliated hospital.

While @pmc_org is quick to take credit for over 1,000 Pakistani medical graduates securing residency positions in the U.S., it often remains silent when it comes to addressing institutional abuse and negligence within local medical colleges.

As for Dr. Saqib Sohail, he has reportedly been asked to "report to the health department"—a vague formality. Most likely, after the dust settles, he’ll be quietly reassigned to another institution. This is unacceptable. He should have been immediately suspended and arrested on the spot.

Violence and abuse in medical education must be treated as criminal acts—not shuffled away through bureaucratic optics.
