@KIN110UofR Morghan King (American Weightlifter) has been a huge advocate for women in a sport that has been typically dominated by men. She went to the Youth Olympic Games as an Athlete Role Model and found out she was the reason a lot of girls started weightlifting. #challenginggendernorms

@Blavallee91 @KIN110UofR I think this was a precaution that was unnecessary. Regardless of contact, players are still in a close vicinity. It will definitely change the game and style of play, but be an eye opener to how women's hockey is played!

I feel as though lots of people who don't allow toys of the from the opposite gender may just not have enough information and it could be all they have ever known.

@KIN110UofR #expensivesports (Hockey) Aside from cost of gear, travel, etc, lots of teams recruit players and make it a requirement to live where you play. Higher levels aren't always about who deserves it, it's who can afford it. Especially in female sports where pay is harder to come by.

@KIN110UofR An example of #alternativesports is snowboarding. Although snowboarding is growing more popular, originally it was not an accepted sport. To this day there are still some ski resorts that still ban snowboarding in the USA.
