@13thHifi Sorry, I don’t agree. I have a TV with Netflix which has content in 4K, connected via wi-fi it glitches, if I hardwire it to the router, it runs smoothly.

How in this day and age can a developer decide not to run CAT6 to TV points, and then state to a purchaser, ‘there’s Wi-Fi for that’. Is it time buyers started to question if their purchase is ‘fit for purpose’ , in my book, it’s not!

@13thHifi Agreed, but with Wi-Fi there are more external factors that can come into play! Even with fast wi-fi, it’s not even close in terms of speed compared to a gigabit wired connection.

@EICREdinburgh @pkentelectrical We tend to suggest using CAT6 or CAT6a as a matter of course as we don’t know what’s around the corner in terms data cable requiremts. 4K is now widely available and we are already seeing talk of 8K format.
