Activism's been slow for a while.

I mostly respond to survivors who are being hacked or stalked by abusive partners. That's about all I can handle, though I feel guilty for not doing more.

Your point is necessary because you recognize that survivors have different needs depending on physical security.

THAT is the thinking we need. Not, "X tech is always safer"

Password security is a relentless, difficult problem to solve.

As you consider biometrics, passwords, password managers, and other questions of personal security online, please emphasize survivors in your thoughts.

We need technology that is safe for the most vulnerable.

Biometrics allow an abuser to access their partner's accounts through physical coercion.

Any conversation about password security that does not emphasize survivors is myopic, privileged, and harmful.

Password leaks do suck.

Tech emphasizes password leaks over domestic violence because leaks are dangerous for corporations and their consumers.

Survivors, especially women, are not a priority because they are not profitable.
