Government approved 99.8 percent of applications for civilian planes carrying weapons – and usually US soldiers – to land at Shannon over the past seven years
Ministers Eamon Ryan and Darragh O’Brien haven’t refused a single application since January 2024

My follow up essay: Ireland's Failure Premium. To answer the question a lot of people have asked me: So where the hell does all of our money go, if it's not into creating infrastructure and a high living standard?!
[The short answer is: someone's pockets. Just not yours...]
@paulsavage I'm on mobile data and it zoomed into France for me (using a 3 MVNO)
IDEA: it might be more attention-grabbing to fully zoom out (to a globe if possible), spin the globe and when you get the location then zoom down to that area of the map 🤷♂️ more work but more wow factor
2024: West Brom named EFL Championship Community Club of the year.
2026: West Brom deducted two points by EFL for accounting treatment of donations to Club community scheme.
So a club can sell its hotel to itself, sell its women’s team to itself, but West Brom are punished, they believe, for legitimate “in-kind” donations to the Albion Foundation, its charity partner that saves lives. Albion also believe the alleged PSR breach is “less than £2m”
The enshittification of Ireland and the hollowing out of our institutions is the single largest threat to Irish civil society and prosperity.
In this damning piece, I'm going into more detail about the graph I posted yesterday: why it's happening in Ireland, why the way we're thinking about the protests is entirely wrong, and what this means for our collective governance. Link to the article is below!
This is sad. I know as a politician these companies are going to spend a billion dollars against me for saying it but 🤷🏽♀️
Pervasive gambling is not good for society. It turns life into a casino, traps people in addiction & debt, surges domestic violence, and fosters manipulation.
Today I$rael tried to kill me in a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon as I was reporting on was the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of 1 million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba
I have absolutely no doubt that this was deliberate. Despite claims there were no warnings ahead of the strike and no notifications sent to the Lebanese Army who allowed us to film
As we have seen in Gaza they want to silence journalists who document and report their war crimes
It is the western powers who provide political and military support for I$rael, arming it to the teeth to carry out genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing here in Lebanon. They are not simply complicit, but active participants and should be held accountable for their actions.
But if I$rael thinks today’s strike will silence us and keep us out of the field they are very, very mistaken
They've done it again, they've cut more rail projects. The most criminal one for me is cancelling the reopening of the Waterford-Wexford/Rosslare line. On the left is the All-island Rail Review published by the last government and on the right is the plan published today.
Ireland is going through a housing crisis
Mostly because we can't build
Our government prioritise the needs of Geese and Bats and eyesores far above progress
I thought it would be fun to share examples.
(reply with more)
First up: The Geese 🪿
@JonnyDrury_Star Cole & Wildsmith.
Is this the first time in a very long time we've had as few as 2 players not good enough for the team?
We've always carried a lot more deadwood than that. Hopefully the 3 or 4 who could come in don't add to it
To be clear what happened here.
Israel bombed a hospital.
They waited for paramedics and first responders to arrive.
Then they bombed it again.
This is known as the 'double tap'.
You are watching unfathomable evil, armed and facilitated by the West.
