@oldmanradd@NorthantsCCC@EssexCricket@CalvinH_98 A record win to match a record winning streak! Having never won more than 5 T20s in a row in first 23 years, fine effort to do 6 last year then 7 (and counting) this.
Almost a shame to see the Surrey final topped from the record books though!
.@NorthantsCCC go 7 from 7 in the Blast, the first time they've won 7 consecutive T20 games, beating the previous best streak of 6 that started last year's group.
Best winning runs (excl NR)
7 - 2026
6 - 2025
5 - 2013/14
5 - 2009
4 - 2022
4 - 2020
4 - 2015
4 - 2008
4 - 2006
@secondtierpod Will be because of the police, the met don't allow 'high risk' matches to be played at 4:30/5:30 on a Saturday in London.
It'll be the reason why the kick-off time was TBC until the finalists were known, we all assumed it was down to Millwall, but clearly it wasn't.
@secondtierpod@Tommy_Kelsall When are people going to realise this is down to Sky Sports + showing every midweek game live? Away followings midweek have nosedived over last two seasons and its now starting to effect home crowds as well.
Should be a warning for those wanting to scrap 3pm blackout.
@BCAFCBH@OBloodwort62716@Ben_1885@greenhoff1972 Luton currently on 86. Haven't played at Everton, AFC Wimbledon, MK, Bromley, Salford or Harrogate.
Although play Wimbledon at Easter, MK, Bromley and Salford could come up and Harrogate go down from L2.
@afc78Wimbledon@AGroundsss Given how rapid their rise has been, Wrexham could well be be first in modern times to do it if they go up and neither of Tottenham or West Ham are relegated.
Coventry will also be close if promoted, but have never played at Bromley, Salford or Harrogate in current L2
@afc78Wimbledon@AGroundsss Luton and Portsmouth are the two closest as it stands I believe. Luton have never played at Everton, Wimbledon, MK, Salford or Harrogate of the current 92. Although will tick off AFC W at Easter, MK and Salford might come up and Harrogate relegated from L2.
@AGroundsss@TheCellsView Impossible for anyone to complete as it stands. None of the 92 have played at all 91 other grounds.
Portsmouth and Luton, who have played Prem-L2 in recent years come closest I believe but still only around 85-86 mark. Coventry would be similar next season.
@LeagueOne25 People will mock but this is the barely mentioned effect of Sky Sports + showing every midweek game.
It's had a big impact on reducing away midweek followings and also starting to effect home crowds.
Yet nobody is willing to admit it being the cause....
@GeorgeElek As a Luton fan, can agree with a lot of those sentiments. Wouldn't trade the 2023 run-in, Wembley win and first 6 months of PL season for anything, but once you've reached that zenith, nothing is quite the same when reality inevitably hit.
@MUFCFred17@Oche180@DiamondXDraws@taylanningpix@OfficialPDC@PDCResults@PDCEurope@PDCNordic Literally if we all could afford to chuck away a grand on entry fee and accommodation cost, we'd all have a go for shits and giggles.
He's costing nobody their place, if anyone losses to him then its their own fault and bringing eyes to darts.
So ultimately fair fucks.
@LTFC_1885 Watching on TV, the difference in the atmosphere between 0-0 and 1-1 after getting the goal straight back within 5 mins was was clearly noticeable despite essentially being same game state.
@jamie_castle96@sjdhatters Also do you really think we wouldn't have a bottom third budget in the Champ next year?
Even if we're holding back some of PL/parachute money to bridge the gap until Power Court, which we probably are hence issues in market last year, the Champ is a financial basketcase
@jamie_castle96@sjdhatters It isn't as linear as keep him = promotion, sell him = staying down though.
Especially when if we're being honest promotion likely involves the lottery of the play-offs.
I absolutely think Mengi is great and has been very harshly treated by many but pragmatic move is cash in.
@LTFC_Dave@sjdhatters@jamie_castle96 We could just as easily go up without him or keep him and not go up.
We're fairly well stocked at CB, especially if we sign a RB to free up Nigel. And that's without any new signing this month.
Take the gaurenteed money for someone who'll walk on a free and reinvest it
@LTFC_Dave@sjdhatters@jamie_castle96 Makes little sense to let him go on a free in the summer if we can cash in now, even for a reduced fee. Utd sell on likely % of profit so be miminal.
If he's indicated he won't sign a new contract even if we go up (that isn't downing tools) then take the money and run.
