It is vital that the entire population consistently implement public health advice into their daily lives; keep your social contacts to an absolute minimum and keep physical distance when you need to be out of your home. #COVID19#staysafe
In 24 hours, there have been 35 new admissions of lab confirmed #COVID19 cases to hospital & 4 new admissions to ICU. There are now 199 people in hospital & 31 in ICU.
Every age group, location, household needs to act now; limit your contacts and stop the disease in its tracks.
We really must mind each other. No matter how resilient we are, 2020 has been tough beyond belief in so many and different ways. “In it together” sounds awful cliched & I don’t like cliches. But looking out for each other, minding each other & being kind & decent will help us all
Just a reminder...we are still living with a deadly virus. If you are younger, you are NOT immune. If it doesn't kill you, your transmission could cost the life of someone else. Let's all get our act together this weekend. #COVID19@HSELive
We move to phase 3 on Mon 29th June. Very low levels of #COVID19. What worries me most now is travel from overseas and I fear many planning foreign trips. 2020 is a year for a staycation. Stay in Ireland, spend locally and follow public health advice. @roinnslainte@HSELive
Face coverings should be worn when you are on public transport & in enclosed spaces like supermarkets and shops. Please go this link for all the information you need on this & please share. Today we launch a new awareness campaign https://t.co/8gKTzL4euJ
Important public health message -progress is fragile & these 2 weeks matter. We must weaken this virus further to save lives & keep people well. Hear my message & please share it so we are all clear what’s at stake in the coming days #Covid19#coronavirus
Our modelling work estimated 4,800 people would have died today if we had not supressed #COVID19 in our community. Sadly, 1,190 have lost their lives today. Thanks to the efforts of the Irish people, over 3,500 lives have been saved. That is 3,500 reasons to #StayAtHome
So let’s be clear -not following public health advice is not consequence-free. It has an effect. What if it was your mum who ended up in intensive care? Or a loved one who passes away from this virus? Or a work colleague or neighbour who gets very ill. Stay the course. #StayHome
Some good news on a difficult day for our country: 109 people with #Covid19#coronavirus have now been successfully discharged from our ICUs. A testament to our amazing frontline staff. And a ray of hope at a dark time. 109 relieved families. Sending them all our very best
A little worried that some complacency is setting in. We have made progress but we’re not yet where we need to be. We need to see a fall in new cases. Encouraging signs. But please let’s not slip up now. #StayHome. It’ll be worth it! Retweet so we all get a reminder #Covid19
A number to give us hope this morning -77. The number of people with #Covid19 who have now been discharged from ICU. 77 lives recovering thanks to the amazing dedication of our health professionals. 77 families relieved. 77 reasons to motivate us & encourage us to stay the course
This morning at 11am #OurMaterTeam will gather for two minutes to applaud the Irish public for staying at home and helping to slow the spread of #Covid19.
Your efforts are helping our country but now is not the time to be complacent. We need you to stick with the public health advice -challenging as it is -to help save lives & flatten the curve. We never thought it would be easy but it will be worth it #Covid19#coronavirus
Ireland, we can do this but only by working together - we all have the power to stop #Covid19 and save lives. Please #stayathome & share this message. Let’s keep our families and communities safe #coronavirus
Please do not visit a holiday home or caravan park this Easter weekend. The spread of the virus is slowing but people travelling could give it a boost - spreading it and seeding it in areas unaffected so far. Stay at home and #FlattenTheCurve
Important news for children: Many of you contacted me & asked me to if the Easter Bunny was allowed work this weekend. I have checked with our top doctors & the good news is he can. But he has been contacted to remind him about washing his hands regularly & keeping his distance
Last week Ireland adopted tough additional measures designed to limit the spread of #COVID19.
It has been a truly nationwide effort to stop the spread of this virus & to protect the vulnerable. We need to keep it going. We need to #FlattenTheCurve even more than we have.
