@Not_Sauron_ Oh, and they will do it now just because, but then after few years will salivate about it. They did the same shifty thing with Star Wars prequels and then sequels... their childishness is just boring by now 🙄
This was just one of this type of comments under the petition. These are the types of ppl being catered to in the Star Wars fandom. THESE are the type of ppl who will swear to you that the hate The Acolyte is getting has nothing to do with bigotry, and everything to do with how bad the show is. This type of behavior is pathetic and I’m tired of Disney and Lucasfilm’s silence only emboldening it #DisappointedinDisney #ShameOnLucasfilm #DisneyHatesDiversity #RenewTheAcolyte #SaveTheAcolyte
You drag ‘em, Inverse! Cancelling The Acolyte when it was heading into a story unexplored before ~the dark side~ with a corruption arc that is tantalizing as it is intriguing, is Disney/Lucasfilm biggest blunder. One that still can be reversed! #SaveTheAcolyte#RenewTheAcolyte
We said we love this show. We HAVE the viewership and support to back it up. And we will continue to do so, even through the hate. This one should be for you, Amandla. For you, Leslye. For you, Manny. #SaveTheAcolyte#RenewTheAcolyte
We'd like to throw whatever weight we have behind this #SaveTheAcolyte petition because we are fans of inclusive and imaginative storytelling, and hope that #TheAcolyte could soar to new heights in a second season. Please consider supporting and sharing. https://t.co/e76e82JK55
They need to know that The Acolyte was a new direction that had so many interested despite the incel bigot dudebros whining and complaining. Give Leslye Headland the chance to continue tell her story #SaveTheAcolyte#RenewTheAcolyte
@BlueRecon17 Because of such so-called fan-boys, I've become ashamed of ever being a Star Wars fan myself. Should've been wiser after TROS and stayed away from SW, but the Acolyte pulled me back in anew... Never again, @Disney & @starwars
How can you catter to such haters...? Shame on you
It feels like the only way for a Star Wars show to be successful is to stay in the Skywalker Saga. #TheAcolyte dared to bring us to a new timeline we've never seen before in live-action.
It dared to give us something new and unique. Was the show perfect? No. Did it succeed in being something new? Hell yeah! I think people at Lucasfilm are afraid to do anything outside of the Skywalker Saga because of the kind of response this show got. But they did it anyway, they took the leap because they were excited about doing it.
But it seems the incredibly toxic people in the Fandom, if you can even call them fans, clearly don't like change. Even if it was just the writing, story or acting that you hated. At least they dared to do something new!
Do I still want stories within the Skywalker Saga? Absolutely! Do I want more projects outside of it too? Yes! Can we have both? Yes! Hell, make a story about what it was like 2,000 years before The Phantom Menace!
But now I'm willing to bet the people at Lucasfilm are even more afraid now to do these things. It's really sad.
"There is nobody I could have done this with other than Amandla Stenberg. Amandla is a professional. She’s so smart. I sound so dumb whenever I’m next to her. Fingers crossed we get to do it again."
