@StarlitFlame For a brief moment his brow furrowed before he was able to parse the obvious humour in her tone.
"I'll admit, it ๐ช๐ด quite close," Seteth replied, throwing her a sly downwards glance from the corner of his eye, "Perhaps this evening will weight the scales in your favour."
@ashendivinity Byleth's feint catches him off guard for a moment, but he manages to recover at the last moment to evade being hit. A small smile plays on his lips before regaining his usual, composed expression.
"You almost had me," he observes, his tone neutral, though it could be โ
โ words quite how long that life had truly spanned, but the pause carries the weight of those long years clear as day.
"I have seen few quite so insidious. It makes soldiers out of children, enemies out of family..."
The lines of his face seem to grow deeper with every word.
"Very well."
A sigh escapes him. It's all well and good, encouraging openness among students and church members, but this doesn't come easily.
"I'm... concerned. I have been for some time. I have seen many a conflict throughout my life," Here he pauses heavily, omitting in โ
They nod in agreement. Indeed, it would be a good first step. If they learnt one thing from their time teaching, it'd be the need for proper communication.
'We'll do it together. I've shared my thoughts. Now, it's your turn.'
@ashendivinity "Out of the two of us, ๐บ๐ฐ๐ถ'๐ณ๐ฆ the tactician."
With that, he stepped back a few paces, then drew back his sword and lunged, aiming for a lower body hit. Not the most offensive move; testing the waters.

After they finish signing, Seteth sits silently for a few moments, then leans back in his chair.
"You make a compelling point," he admits, finally, "I suppose I, much like yourself, am not particularly accustomed to sharing my worries with others. Perhaps we both ought to try."
'You could always talk it out,' Byleth gently suggests.
'While I do not have much experience as you in giving advice, I can still listen.'
They pause, to gauge Seteth's reaction before quickly adding,
'But only if you think it helps.'
@ashendivinity Eyebrows sprung up in surprise, but he deemed it safer not to pry. Instead: "What would you prefer I call you?"
As he uttered the words, he fell into a stance of readiness โ feet apart and angled, knees bent ever so slightly, training sword gripped tightly at the hilt.
@ashendivinity He had to make a quick side step in order to catch the sword smartly, but pulled it off with aplomb. A certain amount of balance was required to ride a wyvern, after all. He only hoped he'd fare similarly in combat...
"Thank you, professor. Are you prepared to begin?"
