Which freezes first? Hot or Cold Water? Try this at home:

1. Fill one foam cup with cold water, and another with the same amount of very hot tap water.
2. Immediately place both cups in the freezer.
3. Check the cups every 15 minutes.

With the snow and cold weather it is important to make sure your water pipes don't freeze. One way to do that is keep your sink cabinets open on very cold nights. This allows for warmer air to flow around your sink and prevents frozen water pipes.

Planning to travel this holiday season? Make sure to keep your home's heater above 55 Degrees Fahrenheit while you are gone. You don't want to come home to frozen or burst pipes after your fun vacation!

#CICWCD is preparing to import whatever amount of water (within their legally owned water rights) is sustainable to the Pine Valley aquifer, but does not intend to impair or impact any other senior water right holders.
