I think people got him wrong, the key word here is mainstream. On first read I was about to disagree and then I realized he used mainstream in there so yeah he’s right.

Before asakaa real rap was not mainstream, it used to be just the ability to rhyme over any type beat and alotta corny lines. Even real rappers were switching to the conies to survive. When i say corny i mean funny also.
