@so_cal_lemon@BenBikmanPhD He's actually involved in businesses like RxSugar which could be affected by widespread GLP-1 use. His shift in perspective imo is purely based on recent discoveries about the drug. As much as I don't feel good about injecting exo-hormones, maybe it can still be a useful tool.
@mert Statins increase diabetes risk, muscle loss, co-enzyme Q10 deficiency, Vitamin D deficiency, lower HDL and much more. There's no such thing as a free lunch.
Guys, Bangalore is honestly not that bad right now.
When it's not humid, your body cools down effectively through little perspiration. So it doesn't feel too hot. I'd take hot and dry weather over hot and humid any day.
@StrongEstusCPT Didn't say carbs change his body type. Read up about adipocyte hypertrophy/hyperplasia. If his genes don't let fat cells multiply, he won't look like he's gaining weight no matter the junk food he eats. Also some carbs are fine. But you said lots. That's not hormonally inert.
@ze_rusty The heating from WiFi is 1000x weaker than sunlight on your skin. WiFi is just really weak light. Our bodies emit stronger radiation than WiFi. That's why humans glow on a thermal camera. If you're sleeping next to someone, they're "cooking your cells" a lot more by your theory.
@ragways@deebayleaf He doesn't want to eat the food made by the cook. If that's not casteism, then what is it? If he's really that picky, he should be cooking his own meals. Looks like the MIL was cooking until she died, then why can't he?
@MohammedAlo We haven't "cured" heart disease because doctors couldn't care less about the diet. They just want to control numbers through pills. There is plenty of evidence that lowering carbs can make a huge impact on lipid profile. But there's no money in that, is there?
@MohammedAlo Your TGL-lowering drugs don't have much impact on outcomes, while TGL-lowering lifestyle changes (such as low carb) consistently improve outcomes. Your statins improve outcomes too but makes people diabetic in the process. And guess who's got the highest cardiac risk? Diabetics.
@BenBikmanPhD@CraigMcintier@sjmmurdock I don't wear sunscreen unless I'm gonna be in the scorching sun for longer than 20 mins. I'm also South Indian so I don't remember ever being burnt. But people around me tell me I should always wear sunscreen, even indoors. I would love to hear some science behind this.
If you have a big buffet dinner coming up tomorrow night, what would you do today to maximize your hunger tomorrow?
You'd eat a little less today and exercise a lot.
Perfect recipe for hunger.
Oversimplified advice for weight loss.
