CIL is happy to announce the release of a new 13C-labeled trifluoromethanesulfonate (TFMS) analytical reference standard! TFMS and other ultrashort-chain (USC) PFAS are very persistent, extremely soluble in water, and exhibit increased mobility in soil and water matrices. They have been detected at high levels in various water sources, at hazardous waste sites, and in dust and indoor air. While USC PFAS can be difficult to analyze using methods that target longer chain compounds due to their small sizes and high polarity, CIL’s new 13C-TFMS rounds out an extensive set of native and labeled USC PFAS reference standards to support ultrashort-chain PFAS analytical methods, including the new ASTM 8628-25. To see CIL’s full range of USC and other PFAS standards please visit our website!
