Across cultures the world over, the shared understanding about grief is that you go to the bereaved. You meet them where the loss sits heavy, at their home. It's the most basic act of honour.
But here, in Nigeria, even that basic dignity was discarded today in Plateau State.
It was insulting enough that the President merely chose to make a stop at the airport, with a lineup of politicians from the very grieving state receiving him. But the real sacrilege here for me was dragging the very people who are still mournin, who are still burying their dead and gathering their lives, out of their spaces of mourning… and transporting them to the airport to be "condoled" by the President.
What happened today was profoundly insulting.
And eeveryone who thought this was acceptable, who planned it, approved it, and executed it, should take a long, hard look in the mirror. Because this is beyond a failure of optics; it is a failure of humanity.
Shame. Shame. Shame.
That moment in Inside Out (2015) with Bing Bong in the memory dump, choosing to jump so Joy can make it out while he fades away, that quiet “take her to the moon for me” just lands in a way that stays with you.
62 years ago this week one of the most timeless musical numbers on film was shot and it also happened to be the first ever scene to be filmed for the sound of music
Most people do not understand what prolonged exposure to manufactured inadequacy does to the feminine psyche
it slowly dislocates a woman from the peace of her own form and trains her to encounter herself through deficiency
artificial modification is misrecognised as self-improvement, when it is often the visible aftermath of a deeper psychic rupture between the feminine self and the form it once inhabited without shame.

Do they understand that this means he never sent the child a Christmas or NYE message? Never asked about back to school supplies or how the child was settling into school? Never called to check in or say hi? For months??? They’re actually mad. If he’d done even one of those things he would have found out earlier
“I wanted to enter the ground”
Ayisha Osori, one of the panelist breaks silence to confirm the rumours that at one point as Hasan pushed Daniel Bwala on a question, asking ‘why’, ‘why’ ‘why’? Bwala responded with: ‘because Y has a long tail and two branches".
My God!!!
These are some of the things feminism did for you
But you’ll stand there and say “me I’m not a feminist oh”. Mtchew.
Better get on your knees and be thankful to the feminists who came before you and pledge to join the cause for the sake of the women who will come after you.
Daniel Bwala’s interview was painful. Not because the questions were unfair—but because the answers were empty. When a government spokesperson can’t defend policy with facts & clarity, it exposes more than incompetence—it exposes a government that has run out of honest arguments.
These people are so stupid, they'll even share an interview where they're being completely annihilated and shown up for the incompetent hacks they are. Shameful lack of consequences.
