If we have transshipment of Chinese goods into the U.S. then whatever headlines say about China’s appetite for U.S. debt, you are going to have to get matching ‘transshipment’ of U.S. Treasury holdings.
Ironically, both seem to be via Canada here to some degree.
I worked with CBC Fifth Estate for one investigation they did. Don't confuse this group with rest of CBC, they do very good work, confirm it, and deliver. You can take it to the bank if it's on Fifth Estate. Watch this, the Ford's govt knew about all of this 4 years ago, and now are crushing innocent schools and students. Share widely. #osap
Another ship attack close to the Black Sea shoreline with the goal of creating a similar situation for disruption of the grain exports as in the period of 2022-23 (the previous global multiplicative cascade crisis). The Black Sea is one of the key global choke points for food.
Unlike a week ago, this time Russia is attacking ships on the edge of Bulgaria's territorial waters: 13-15 nautical miles from the Black Sea shoreline. It was 100 miles last time. Again vessels carrying Ukrainian grain from Romania to Turkey.
Just putting it out there … is Canada on its way to becoming a 90s era mafia state of the former Soviet Union variety? Complete with an array of fragmenting would-be autonomous republics?
Is this actually an arguable proposition? Just based on the sheer volume of bank fines and collapsing public services, and the way power is distributed?
[No whataboutism please. I’m interested in Canada.]

BREAKING NEWS
Liberal MPs on the Government Operations Committee just voted to block an investigation into how a man accused by CSIS of helping Iran's military and the IRGC kept receiving Canadian government contracts.
CSIS alleged Mohammad Reza Ghafouri Fard participated in procurement activities that benefited the Iranian military and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
He had been flagged for national security reasons as early as 2017.
CSIS sent its security report to immigration officials in 2023.
Yet his companies kept receiving Canadian tax dollars including from the Department of National Defence.
Conservatives asked for ONE committee meeting to investigate how this was allowed to happen.
The Liberals shut down debate.
What are the Liberals trying to hide?

Canada's Prime Minister hired a Hillary Clinton staffer.
In July, Carney named Maia Johnson the first Chief Operating Officer in the history of the Prime Minister's Office.
She ran scheduling for Clinton's 2016 campaign, worked on the Biden and Harris campaigns, and held a key role at Hawkfish, the Bloomberg-backed Democratic data firm.
She's been inside the PMO since February.
This is the office handling Canada's trade fight with Trump.
Brazil swings to the right in the first election round & “Trump effect” seems almost complete in the western hemisphere under Donroe Doctrine, except for Mexico. If key player as Brazil joins the US orbit, it will a major geoeconomic blow to the DragonBear bloc amid new Cold War.
We are quietly isolating an entire generation of older people from society, and nobody seems to give a damn.
I took my 84-year-old grandfather to his local bank branch on Friday.
The exact same brick-and-mortar branch where he opened his first account in 1978.
We pull up to the front doors. They’re locked.
Inside is an empty lobby with a small sign: “Cashless Service Hub.”
A young guy in a polo shirt opens the door and tells us:
“We don't handle teller deposits or paper checks here anymore. You just need to download the mobile portal and scan your routing number.”
My grandfather pulls out an old flip phone with a cracked screen and a paper pension check from his coat pocket.
His hands were visibly shaking.
The employee just shrugs.
“You can do it on an iPad, or have a family member manage the app for you.”
This man worked forty-two years in a manufacturing plant. Paid his taxes. Fought for this country.
And now he is made to feel completely useless and stripped of his dignity because he doesn't own an iOS device.
Tech isn't making life easier if it completely locks out the people who built the world we’re living in.
Are your elderly parents or grandparents running into this wall too?

This first symptoms of pneumonic plague typically start about 4 to 7 days after exposure. 200 people are under observation.
Many of you have been tracking the Irkutsk lab situation over the last few days.
I've been gathering facts and trying to understand what is happening before weighing in.
Now that I have, I have to say — I'm concerned

Prime Minister @MarkJCarney laughed off President Trump's claim that Canada would apologize for its retaliatory tariffs. Canadians replacing a furnace this winter won't be laughing.
His government's counter-tariffs have pushed a $5,000 heating job to $5,700 or more, and the industry says Ottawa is now doing more damage than Washington, the National Post reports. 🧵👇 (1/5)
I bet Carney wished they remained suppressed.
Little wonder he and Liberals dit like to mention that the 2nd carbon tax (Clean fuel regulation) adds 19 cents per litre to diesel and 16 cents per litre to gasoline
Canadians continue to be green fleeced by Carney
