Hi! My name is Cina, and I’m a writer. My memoir is my current WIP
I used to do slam poetry competitively but lately I mostly write blog articles about mental health, relationships, and personal narratives.
I can usually be found on the beach, in a hammock, or with a cat (or 4)
In my late teens/early 20’s, I would hear people talk about how afraid they were to grow up or how much they missed being kids. I couldn’t relate. Still can’t.
I hated my childhood. Adulthood brought freedom and peace that were inaccessible to me as a minor.
One of the really bad things about having a not-so-great childhood is that it can rob you of the tender memories you will need to sustain you when you're older.
I'm sorry if that happened to you.
The good news is that you still have time to make your own happy memories.
They might not fill the hole in your heart, but they will sure help.
@ThePOTSPostman For me it was vacuuming… I never realized how much work it was to pull a vacuum back and forth until I started throwing myself into flare ups doing it 🫠
$17 for an e-book is INSANE! Remember when they used to be like $3?
I really do appreciate the convenience of my kindle in this season of life, but if I’m going to spend that amount of money, I want a physical copy. 😅
You probably don’t even need permission from anyone or anything to do the thing you’ve been thinking of endlessly. You could literally just start right now
Your heart is not a state secret. You are meant to declare allegiances. You are meant to have favourites. Write the letter. Miss the train. Stay up until dawn talking. You should be caught red-handed loving something, someone.
@SModjesky@allie__voss I had a similar experience moving from Colorado to Florida! If my houseplants start dying, I just put them outside and they come right back
@allie__voss Yes!! I’ve been intimately aware of the water levels in my areas because I walk a trail with a creek. I’ve watched it fall over the last couple of months and watched it rise again after some heavy rainfall… it feels good to be in touch with what matters
One of the threats of modern life is getting so out of tune with nature that you no longer notice these things
You should know when daffodils come up, when fireflies start, when monarchs migrate and when the sap runs
You should be intimately conscious of the place you call home
I walk this little trail everyday. As the drought has worsened, I’ve watched the water level sink lower and lower.
Yesterday we had a ton of rain. Today, I was very grateful to see the water level rose a bit because of it
