@adamfare1996 AuDHD wasn't usually diagnosed a generation ago so neurodivergent adults brought up their children with little support. Indeed parents were blamed for their children's behaviour, hence the term Refrigerator Mother". We should praise them.

Small talk can be difficult as it seems to not have any purpose so what's the point? However it's useful to make connections with new people and breaks the ice. As a rule of thumb, the best subjects are relatable but easily forgotten.

The term comes from cooking food at the back of the stove on a lower heat as it doesn't need your attention. If you put your work on the back burner then it is not a priority. It does not mean to burn or finish it off.
