@SotisValkan According to this picture, the earthquakes are occurring below the earth's crust and the plate boundaries, why is that happening?

Divergent: These plates create rifts and in the African Rift Valley in between the Arabian plate and the African Plate, the valley is tearing apart. This has happened in other parts of the world.

ℂ𝕠𝕟𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕘𝕖𝕟𝕥: All the plates in the crust form like a big puzzle, and the convection currents are what cause the plates to crash against each other, these currents occur in the mantle. This is how mountain ranges form.

I love this concept! Graphic design is my passion and science is cool as well. Seeing a graphic designer making this planetary map with Io's volcanoes is amazing!

For the children in your life (and the children at heart), check out these incredible planetary maps. Featuring the volcanoes of Jupiter's moon, Io! I learned that Io is considered the most active planetary body in the solar system. My day is now complete.
Questions:
1) Were there casualties in different cities affected by the tsunami?
2) Were there any nuclear plants in the area affected?
3) Why did they reopen runways?

Observations:
1) In the tsunami, there were fires even though it was surrounded by rushing water.
2) As the water picked up debris and dirt, it looked like sludge.
3) The water moved up stream, showing the strength of the tsunami.

@ALomaxNet@SotisValkan Based off the Haiti 1842 earthquake and the recent, does this fault zone usually have major tremors or is it not possible to determine that information? #taysci2
@SotisValkan My understanding of the Hellenic Arc is there is a part in the trench where there is a "non-volcanic part". Does this part affect the volcanic part in any way? #taysci2
