@KatrinaKibben I was struggling on a team where I just didn't fit but refused to give up. I kept working harder & longer. A mentor suggested I work 35 hrs a week, prioritizing only what was highly impactful & saying no to the rest. It was really useful for the review cycle. #BefriendingDragons

In a waiting rm this week a woman told the receptionist how she was surprised when a friend got COVID bc she thought it was over now. WTF ppl! It's endemic as in NOT GOING AWAY. It's a leading cause of death & long COVID sucks. Mask up.

Up until the early 2000s, it was normal to go to a restaurant or nightclub and get your lungs and clothes saturated with cigarette smoke.
Health effects were well known, but nothing was done. It was considered too difficult, too inconvenient.

@piper4missouri Finding a rheumatologist in the US is hard, rescheduling pushes out the appointment by months. It took my PCP pushing hard to get me in w/a new one after my last retired. Apparently they have longer avg appts but US insurance pays same so fewer ppl choose the specialty.

If, in 2023, your organization isn't embracing DEI and multiculturalism, by 2033 your organization probably won't exist. There is no path to prosperity in only pursuing white consumers or labor. It's demographically unsustainable.

@MichaelFordTO Regulations aka protections spell out expectations. They make assumptions and requirements explicit. They provide a consistent experience over time so individuals and businesses can do long term planning. Why would you brag about not having clear expectations?

@oldenoughtosay Midwest. No, fish isn't exactly meat unless you're talking about vegetarian/vegan. I can see how it would sometimes fall into the meat category. However, despite what some of my friends say, meat does include more than beef.

@ComradeDoyIe Unlike gender, citizenship is binary. Are you American - yes or no. There is no "I'm more American than you" bs. I am American. If I found out tomorrow I had been adopted from parents born in another country I would be just as American.

@NikkiHaley The white gaze is so prevalent in the US that any attempt to present any other perspective, such as that if Black and/or Indigenous Americans, is seen by the right as un-American. What they call CRT is just multiple viewpoints that are seen as valid.
