This is pretty much what happened to my dad, the man spent 55-60 years working day and night hardest worker you ever would meet. 12-hour days owned multiple businesses over his life. We both did hard back-breaking work breathing chemicals we shouldn't, lifting things that had to be moved, rolling around on concrete up and under trucks and equipment.

He spent his last 5 years with cancer, medical bills wiped out everything he ever worked for and he spent his last years suffering.

Insurance was charged over 5,000 (5 hr visit) my copay for the emergency visit resulted in a $3500 bill. My urgent care visit copay: $100.scam

@brianschatz I dipped into my savings and paid off the emergency bill (3,447)and just received another bill for the visit to urgent care where I was directed to a parking lot and redirected to the emergency room because I had a fever. I owe 100 for a parking lot visit.

@brianschatz I’m working at 65 and have insurance. I recently was redirected to emergency when I went to urgent care. Spent 5ish hours; my copay is now 3500 dollars. My company health insurance was responsible for $23,000. Our health care system is a scam! Five hours and over $25000. Wrong!
