"I got hit and fell down in front of a truck. A soldier beat me with his rifle but I defended and pushed him back. Then he immediately shot at me as I ran away in a zig-zag pattern. Fortunately, I escaped," a protester told @Reuters by phone.

The military junta brutally cracked down the peaceful protesters in Yangon this morning. A military vehicle intentionally hit the protesters and at least 3 protesters were murdered at the incident, witnesses said.

Everyday, the peaceful people of Myanmar are being targeted with crimes against humanity. We have made urgent and frequent requests for R2P, a no fly zone, arms embargoes, sanctions and recognition of NUG, but most of these requests have been met with no results on the ground..
This is another inhumane and barbaric act of Myanmar military. Military leadership are accountable, must be brought to justice, ICC, international tribunal.
The international community must act decisively now.
Military dictatorship must end now.
Democracy & justice must prevail.
Uncomfortable, distressing image (sent to me) of protester pinned under #Myanmar#military vehicle after it deliberately drove, at high speed, into #Yangon protesters. Protester apparently dragged under as vehicle rammed into group staging flash protest #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar
It's not enough that the Myanmar junta is shooting pro-democracy protesters. Today, as anti-coup rallies took place across the country, a speeding army truck rammed into protesters. Three are feared dead. https://t.co/Eykwe9bvnc
If it happens in Paris or Berlin and the driver is brown, media will report it as a terror attack - also probably getting a lot more attention. Now it’s the military running over protestors, so it will be just written off as a crackdown.
Video footage:
At least four people were killed as the military rammed the crowd with vehicle and opened fire at Pan Pin Gyi Road in Kyeemyindaing tsp, Yangon this morning.
