THE DIRECTIVE

Jeffrey Epstein told Steve Bannon he needed to take control of Donald Trump's re-election campaign or there was no hope of Trump winning.

This was June 18 2019. Trump had officially launched his 2020 re-election campaign that same day with a rally in Orlando Florida. Brad Parscale was the campaign manager. The campaign was already operational.

Epstein sent this to Bannon.

"you will need to take the campaign if there is to be any hope at all"

Bannon responded with 2 words.

"For certain"

Epstein was not speculating about Bannon's future. He was issuing a strategic directive. Bannon needed to take the campaign. Without that there was no hope. Bannon agreed completely.

Bannon had been Trump's chief strategist during the 2016 campaign's final stretch the period widely credited with sharpening Trump's message and driving the electoral college victory. His departure from the White House in August 2017 had not diminished his belief in his own indispensability to the Trump political project.

Epstein shared that assessment. A convicted sex offender living under a non-prosecution agreement was privately directing the former White House Chief Strategist to seize control of a sitting president's re-election campaign on the day that campaign officially launched.

Bannon never formally took control of the 2020 campaign. Brad Parscale remained campaign manager until August 2020 when he was replaced by Bill Stepien. Bannon was indicted for fraud the same month.

18 days after this message SDNY arrested Epstein. He never saw the 2020 election.

Who else was Epstein directing in the final weeks before his arrest and what did they do with those instructions?

Reality Check:

One of the biggest myths about the 2020 election isn't whether the allegations existed.

It's that they were never tested.

Many of the highest-profile claims ended up exactly where they're supposed to: in court.

Since then we've seen:

• Fox pay Dominion $787.5 million.
• Giuliani held liable for defaming Georgia election workers.
• Sidney Powell's legal defense argue no reasonable person would treat her claims as statements of fact.
• Gateway Pundit retract its fraud claims.
• "2000 Mules" pulled after its central accusation collapsed.
• Smartmatic reach settlements with OANN and Newsmax.

The narrative kept changing.

The court record kept growing.

Those aren't opinions.

They're part of the historical record.

There are a lot of bogus and unsupported claims contained in raw intel the U.S. collects every day. That’s why the agencies pay analysts to sort truth from fiction. You can cherry pick through the holdings and find reporting to support almost anything you want to argue. Doesn’t mean it’s true.
