@DarthInternous It's funny... I definitely notice it in the writing of others (and it bothers me), but I'm most annoyed when I do it myself. Papers when I was still in school, cover letters while I'm job hunting (for entry-level publishing roles, go figure), and even with casual texting.
Officially fall with all of the lovely temps and warm foods/beverages, and yet we're still running the a/c because it's always warmer upstairs, and lymphedema is weird.
Thankfully I live with understanding people and a somewhat understanding cat. ;]
@JustJesscaa Man... game industry... publishing... it all stinks. I don't even mind the interview process, I'm just sick of checking the same sites 30 bajillion times a day to try and be one of the early candidates, and not even getting an auto-response "no" on some of them. π It's draining!
I wash a handful of dishes and then have to rest my feet because of lymphedema, but please, tell me again why you think I can/should relocate to NYC to work in person for an entry-level job in publishing. Because, yannow, I wouldn't be spending ANY time on my feet for that. π
C'mon, folks. Remote opportunities in #publishing need to be more common, especially editorial. You want a more diverse staff to help create more diverse books, this is a HUGE part of that.
@BookRiot Love the TMNT love and catching Daredevil references, but there's one more! =] Don't forget about Splinter (a clear call-out to Daredevil's mentor, Stick).
Also, if you, too, still cringe over Venus from "The Next Mutation," check out Jennika from the comics... she's great. =]
