@kaylaallison24 don't strain yourself to have a high pitched voice, natural always sounds better. make sure to not overwork your voice, drink lots of water, vocabulary does more than you think, having a softer vocabulary or words you use more often help and its a long process sadly ;w;
@gaysodalover i was supposed to meet a woman at blizzcon 2012, she didn't end up going, and by the time i drove halfway across the country home she had left the guild i was in too to go play swtor, truly heartbreaking ;w;
@ryanalxander91 Agreed, 'Classic' players are also retail players, a lot of people have played Classic since it was retail, I've played since I was in middle school starting in TBC and love modern WoW. My main issues with WoWF aren't content, its 2004 era toxicity, game is lovely otherwise.
Genuine question to people in WoW Forever. Not an achievement system like retail, but something like Loremaster. Knowing you finished 33/40 quests in an area means you have another hub or chain to explore somewhere there and would be nice to track progress in a zone, is that okay
@allyparser I play retail and love endgame there, Forever is definitely more of a casual and cozy WoW experience for me with slower leveling and more atmosphere, both can coexist peacefully c:
@freckxiwow this was the first raid i ever did to completion, i was in high school and it was so magical to reach ragnaros for the first time. for a lot of people, cata was something they complained about, but i loved the journey and experience so much
@SierraStriker you've never 1v1ed anybody in retail either, that's why i dont get this. i understand the 'champion' context is cringe but every raid we've been supported by armies, troops, factions, etc
i understand the appeal of just being an ordinary adventurer but by the end of classic you restored political stability to stormwind by slaying onyxia, slay an elemental lord of fire, break the dark horde's leadership by killing nefarion, slay an ancient troll deity,
@Rainwatcher_ ion literally said it's neither, its a new pillar. a third version of wow for people to play and enjoy and evolve over time unlike era which stays the same and retail which has different philosophies than both
So the gatekeeping in World of Warcraft Forever is getting kind of crazy.
I posted a simple statement from the Game Director Ion on Forever. Keywords to look for are It is not Classic or Retail but its own game. "Forever is designed to be a third pillar alongside Retail and Classic"
I would say "the whole this is our game" has to stop. But of course it won't. Classic players say that this is "OUR" game it was meant for "US" not meant for you.
Yeah and Classic Era was meant for you. And the community pretty much left it in the dust to die following the coattails of the majority who went past 60 and moved forward. Several Classics after really. Most players had the choice to stay, but didn't. The Devs had the choice to add new content to Era but didn't. Why?
Because World of Warcraft Forever is meant to reach farther than just the Private Server Refugees and Classic players. They want players from all over. They want OSRS players. ESO Players. GW2 Players. FFXIV Players. And so on.
Gatekeep all you want. But they are coming. And they are coming in large waves like a fucking Tsunami. Into "YOUR" game. And they will have feedback. And you will see a lot of it all over every social, streams, YT, TikTok, everything.
Forever should stick to the foundation of the gameplay and gaming philosophy of Vanilla. While Making the game visually approachable for all audiences. With simple QoL and additions that hurt no one.
This isn't an "OUR" or "US" situation fam.
World of Warcraft Forever is for EVERYONE. And in 44 days you will see that. You won't be alone. All walks of life will be entering Forever.
And yes I woke up today and chose violence.
@deep_baals and retail wow still has us enter raids as the capstones of stories to do these things, even in storymode raids you are just part of a larger group doing things.
@JamieKaos Same thing as I'm gonna do in retail, raid log until new stuff comes out on retail or Forever, with Forever being my cozy casual MMO for easier, relaxed content
@arcanistsaphras as a 'retail andy' that played since middle school when it launched, im looking forward to it, but a lot of the points people make really don't make any sense to me, or their complaints are about a retail that hasn't existed in expansions ;w;
@RinTheMage im not a game designer by any means but a better introduction to professions besides walking up to a trainer and saying 'i'd like to learn this', a simplified achievement system, stuff to show you completed a major storyline, zone storylines, explored a map.
this post probably won't leave my sphere but watching the wow forever discourse is so interesting to me because to a lot of people 'retail' is wotlk changes, some are legion changes, and some are world saga changes, nobody can really decide what 'retail' is except after vanilla
@NathanJSlocum1 we still fight in a raid team in modern wow, midnight you fight with the lights vanguard and rendorei in voidspire, all the elves in march, and the amani in venomous abyss, we're a known hero, but we're still part of an army, resistance, strike force
@itsneryssa the gatekeeping is kinda ridiculous, as well as the 2004 era racism, homophobia and misogyny. lots of players, new and old, are excited. the announcement even said its a game for people new and old, but people only latch onto the classic plus part, not the new game part
@TheQuestBroski iirc we rescue varian where he reveals lady prestor is onyxia, then we go kill onyxia. onyxia had pretty significant political power in stormwind so even if we dont personally save stormwind we're part of the trusted military force to restore peace, among all our other quests
@cheezman22@AteoGaming summoning stones with teleportation were added in classic, at the very end iirc, i was in middle school so it's been a while but i do remember them coming out before tbc
@beepybeebee as an 'elder gay' sadly the hate has existed as long as ive been alive, race, sexuality, gender, but you can't change most of these people's minds. find a loving community, live your best life and thrive outside of their hate
