Just realized that my creative adaptation was not the best way to communicate what I had in mind. So I just slightly changed my creative adaptation, lets see how it turns out. Going to work on it and hopefully finish it tonight! #1102girlhood
I related it to the Hunger Games b/c they were both in a very challenging competition. They had different outcomes, but they both wanted to win. Both made good friendships with the opponents and the different realtionships were an important part of both stories. #1102girlhood
Enjoyed Dare Mighty Things by Heather Kaczynsky. In some parts I related it to the Hunger Games. In the long and challenging competitions (the โraceโ) and the friendships they made along the competitions. Really likes Cass and Lukaโs relationship. #1102girlhood
I also enjoyed how it was set in the present (2030s), but I felt that it lacked details of the technology. I didnโt feel it had modern technology and high-tech systems. Everything they used seemed very similar to present technology. I feel it lacked details. #1102girlhood
Reading the book I was assigned for the final discussion next week. Excited to see how the three books connect and how a single discussion for the three different books is going to turn out. #1102girlhood
@ldaws3 Agree! I also liked how the mother and grandmother reacted. I thought the grandmother was going to react so different and that she was going to be so disappointed. #1102girlhood
@CaseyAlane It happened to me! I started out with season 2 episode 7 and it was a major spoiler. I had to continue watching almost the whole first season because I wanted to continue watching season 2. #1102girlhood
Really enjoyed One Day at a Time. Watched some extra episodes and loved them! My favorite part was when they started talking spanish, it made it so relatable and some phrases were so accurate. It reminded me of some phrases I hear at home. #1102girlhood
Earlier this week I had an interview with one of the leaders of a Dominican museum. Gave me a lot of information about my history girl! So helpful. #1102girlhood
Started my diary/story for the creative adaptation. Currently struggling with the plot and what I want to show through it. Going to do some brainstorming! #1102girlhood
Really enjoyed the presentation we had today in class. It was impressive how they found common themes and aspects with the two books and they were totally different! I also really liked what we did today where we split into groups and discussed the book. #1102girlhood
