Yesterday, I started using 🍋 @lemonsqueezy as the payment processor for https://t.co/NWTnouEBzu. 🚀

It was really easy to set-up and I am surprised with the lightning fast ⚡ approval process.

This is how I switched my payment processor to @lemonsqueezy in under 4 hours. 💼

🚀Getting Started with Lemon Squeezy:

Signed up with Lemon Squeezy due to previous payment provider limitations.

After signing up i got redirected to the dashboard which is automatically set in the test mode.

Completed the necessary business and customer information on the “Activate your store” page and my account was sent for a review.

🛠 Integration Choices:

Chose to use the dashboard for integration over API. It provides more freedom but in the end the hosted checkout page was enough for my needs.

I created my products. There are options to create variations of the same product, one time payments, monthly and annual subscriptions and many more.

🔄 Passing User Info:

Utilized custom data passing feature to send and receive user info between the app and Lemon Squeezy.

⛓️ Getting Order Info and User Info with Webhooks:

I implemented an end point in my backend to process the received webhook with the order data.

the user info comes under meta object and i used the user id to update the database.

🆔 KYC Process:

Submitted social media and LinkedIn profiles upon KYC request, approved within 30 minutes.

⌛ Approval Wait Time:

Used the wait time for approval to integrate payment processing and run tests. They were telling approval may take 1-2 business days.

📑 Testing the Setup:

Thoroughly tested the entire setup including checkout flow, different products, and discounts using the test mode provided.

🚀 Going Live:

With approval received, transitioned to live mode and began processing live transactions.

🔄 Transition to Live Environment:

Copied test products to live environment using the "copy to live" button.
Updated product links in the frontend to live environment links.

💳 Finalizing Payment Setup:

Ensured the webhook was set up again for the live version as test and live versions are not synced.

🤝 Affiliate Tracking Setup:

Created an affiliate profile and added the provided script to the page for tracking affiliate actions.
