@exQUIZitely I also have to say, KOF had +-6 months on Tekken 1, but like I said, Tekken 3 was the iteration that launched Tekken for global recognition, although Tekken 2 is really wild.

@exQUIZitely You should take out Tekken and insert KOF. SF, MK and KOF were the real champs of the 90s. Tekken takes flight with Tekken 3, way past the time these powerhouses appeared.
And you should also add Fatal Fury and Samurai Shodown.
As for 3D fighters, Virtua Fighter, Tekken and DOA.
