Yet Norway has a higher rate of tax and has a wealth tax. Its higher rate of capital gains tax is also much higher (its equalised with dividends). 1/2

@tomhfh Assuming that’s accurate, the lessons are twofold. One: benefits have to be set at the actual cost of living, unlike wages. Rent is out of control, which would be most of the £3.5k. Two: wages must go *up* if benefits make them look low. That’s not the fault of the sick and poor.
