Going JUCO for 1-2 yrs will “restart” your 4 yr recruiting cycle. I hate hearing JUCO is a LAST option because you can get so much out of going.

When a hitter recognizes a low slot; history tells them the ball should move towards their arm side and sink. Low slot with high ride is this whole invisiball phenomenon going on, see Hader/Scherzer. You need plus induced vertical break, plus spin rate would be ideal.

Generally these guys pitch with premium extension, and maintain a 12:00/180 Tilt/Axis. Pitching above the hitting zone will garner weak pop ups, foul balls, swings and misses. Pitching down in the zone can be a strength, hitters expect pitchers to be in the dirt getting takes.

Issue I hear a lot about not wanting to play JUCO baseball is that the player wants to graduate from a “big” or prestigious University. Understandable, but you can still graduate from that major university after playing two years of JUCO. Not about where you start...
